Majlis Tertinggi Melayu Islam Beraja (MTMIB) along with Academy of Brunei Studies (APB) Universiti Brunei Darussalam will held its “Adat Istiadat Melayu Brunei” project at the UBD Chancellor Hall on afternoon 7 April 2010. The one day event will be open for the public who wish to learn more about the Adat Istiadat Melayu.

To ensure everything works smoothly the project committee conducted a full rehearsal of the event was held last night (Monday 5 April 2010). This includes checking the Audio Visual System and making final touch on the exhibition and seating arrangement. Present during the full rehearsal was Dr.Siti Norkhalbi binti Hj.Wahsalfelah the Director of Brunei Studies, Shahrol Amira bin Abdullah the Deputy Director of Brunei Studies, APB lecturers, Adat Istiadat Department officers as well as the students who become the committee during the event.

According to the event organizer the even will consist two phase. Phase one will be the Adat Istiadat Melayu inter-faculty quiz finals which will saw representatives from Academy of Brunei Studies and Faculty of Arts and Social Science (FASS) competing for the first and second place. While the second phase will be the exhibition with the theme “Adat Dipelihara Masyarakat Sejahtera”. The exhibition will showcase the Malay culture, clothing and traditional music instruments.
